We are Bboxx
Bboxx exists to solve a major global problem: energy poverty
1.2 billion people live with no access to electricity. An additional 1 billion people are connected to an unreliable grid network.
We believe that energy access is an entry point unlocking a future that is otherwise not possible. It enables a child to study at night. It allows businesses to prosper.
Our off-grid energy solution harnesses the best innovations in hardware, software and distribution to deploy smart, next generation utilities. To date our products have been sold in over 35 countries and we are working to expand to many more.
10 years on, we are as passionate about addressing this global problem, as we have ever been. The scale of the challenge is huge. However, so is the size of the opportunity to transform people’s lives for the better.
Where we began...

Over 10 years ago, our three co-founders – Mansoor Hamayun, Christopher Baker-Brian and Laurent Van Houcke – met at Imperial College London where they were studying Electrical and Electronic Engineering.
Through their experiences travelling, they saw first-hand the challenges that communities and businesses face without access to reliable energy supplies.
They also saw the potential to create a sustainable, affordable, commercial solution that would transform the lives of those affected.
Bboxx is the result.
